QUALITY POLICY

Carr Civil Contracting is a West Australian family owned and operated company, based in Karratha, which focuses upon the delivery of civil contracting services including supply and delivery of conventional and innovative products and transport of materials on time, within budget, and to specification.

Carr Civil Contracting has developed expertise in the manufacture of road and heavy vehicle pavements, supply and delivery of drainage products and civil contracting with special emphasis upon providing effective production techniques and low cost solutions for infrastructure projects on behalf of private customers, mining companies, Australian and State Government Departments and agencies, and Local Authorities.

The primary objective of Carr Civil Contracting is to deliver on time, cost-effective solutions and a level of service that meets the diverse needs and expectations of our customers.  Our business objectives are as follows:

  • Provide high quality cast and prefabricated materials and related installation services; high quality crushed aggregates and related construction materials; using experienced employees, contractors and services, on time and within the agreed terms of contracts tendered and won from advertised, invited and/or or pre-qualified submissions.
  • Offer improvements in products or services and plan activities from feedback that helps to enhance our relationship with customers and ultimately deliver improvements to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain an ongoing business relationship with clients based on honesty and trust.
  • Deliver services in a safe and courteous manner to the client and their clients and/or employees.

The executive management of Carr Civil Contracting recognises that a complete commitment to quality throughout its operations is the key to meeting our objectives as well as satisfying the requirements under the standard for continual improvement to the quality management system, continuing research and education. The entire organisation is committed to consistently meeting the requirements of ISO 9001.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Carr Civil Contracting Ltd is committed to managing its operations in an environmentally responsible way.

To ensure environmentally responsible behaviour is embraced as an integral part of our operations, we specifically undertake to:

  • Conduct operations in compliance with relevant environmental legislation, regulations, licences and client requirements. Where adequate laws and regulations do not exist, develop and apply, in consultation with our employees, standards and work practices that reflect management’s commitment to protect the environment.
  • Prevent pollution and achieve continual improvement of environmental performance within the scope of the Company through economically viable best practice.
  • Reduce energy consumption and waste produced where economically viable, including the development and implementation of environmental management programs that;

    - include the safe disposal of waste oils and waste bituminous products; and

    - substituting, where practicable, environmentally harmful substances with less harmful products.

  • Communicate openly and constructively with our employees, clients and the wider community about our environmental practices.
  • Regularly set and review environmental and energy objectives and targets.
  • Ensure that our employees and subcontractors are aware of this policy.
  • Educate our employees and subcontractors’, ensuring the requirement for environmental responsibility is integrated into work practices, training and decision-making and is included in performance assessment.

The success of protecting the environment is dependent on the total commitment and cooperation of all employees of the company, including management.

OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH POLICY
The company is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment and systems of work that are safe and without risk to the health and safety of all employees, including contractors, sub-contractors and visitors.  The Managing Director is the officer responsible for the implementation and monitoring of this policy.

The management of Carr Civil Contracting Ltd is committed to the promotion of continuous improvement of the health and safety management system. Our Safety vision is to ensure that no one who works for Carr Civil Contracting Ltd is ever injured.

To ensure a safe and healthy work environment management is committed to develop and maintain a health and safety management system to:

  • Observe, implement and fulfil the organisation’s statutory obligations under all relevant health and safety legislation, standards, codes of practice and other requirements to provide and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Establish measurable health and safety objectives and targets to ensure continued improvement aimed at elimination of work-related injury and illness;
  • Plan and monitor the implementation of programmes for accident prevention and control that actively encourage the accurate and timely reporting, recording and investigation of all accidents, incidents, unsafe conditions and the early reporting of pain or discomfort;
  • To identify all existing and new hazards and take all practicable steps to eliminate, isolate or minimise the exposure to any hazards deemed to be significant. To ensure that all employees are made aware of the hazards in their work area and are adequately trained to enable them to perform their duties in a safe manner;
  • Encourage employee consultation and participation in all matters relating to health and safety by establishing a health and safety committee to involve individuals in occupational health and safety matters and to consult with them on ways to recognise, evaluate and control workplace hazards;
  • The Health, Safety, Environmental/Quality Assurance Manager (HSE/QA Manager)) is appointed as management representative for health and safety and has responsibility and authorisation to maintain system compliance to health and safety legislation and other requirements. The HSE/QA Manager is responsible for reporting on systems to top management in regard to continual improvement.

All employees are responsible for their own safety and the safety of their fellow employees.  The success of our safety and health program is dependent on the total commitment and cooperation of all employees of the company, including management.

The safety committee and employee initiatives shall be totally supported by management.
